چکیده

in this research, microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (md) with pretreatment ultrasound (us) 45 and 90 min of essential oils from fresh aegle marmelos peel were used and the results were compared with those obtained by hydrodistillation technique (hd) in terms of extraction yield/efficiency, extraction time, chemical composition and quality of the essential oil. all experiments were performed with at least three replicates. they were done according to glm method and lsd test in the sas software system. the values obtained for essential oil from aegle marmelos was achieved 2.00±0.2% and 1.97±0.2% by md with pretreatment us (45 and 90 min) and 2.02±0.2% by mw. by using gc-ms system the compositions of essential oils extracted were identified. the major component of essential oils obtained by both methods was limonene. there is no significant effect on the yield of essential oil and quality of essential oils extracted by md with pretreatment us as compared to mw method.

antioxidant activity of essential oil from black zira (bunium persicum boiss.) obtained by microwave-assisted hydrodistillation

microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (mahd) at three levels of microwave power (180, 360, and 540 w) and the traditional hydrodistillation (hd) were applied to obtain essential oils from bunium persicum boiss. (black zira). mahd at 540 w started much earlier than that of hd (4 min vs. 38 min, respectively). by the time the extraction of essential oils started with hd, almost 50% of the total es...

Sequential ultrasound-microwave assisted extraction as a green method to extract essential oil from Zataria multiflora

Sequential ultrasound-microwave associated extraction (SUMAE) is a combination of ultrasound waves and microwaves energies in which ultrasonic extraction is used as a pretreatment. It was performed to extract essential oil from Zataria multiflora. The extraction conditions were optimized by response surface methodology (RSM) and Central Composite Design (CCD). The antioxidant and antibacterial ...

Microwave-assisted isolation of essential oil of Cinnamomum iners Reinw. ex Bl.: comparison with conventional hydrodistillation.

Microwave-assisted hydrodistillation was used to isolate an essential oil from the leaves of Cinnamomum iners Reinw. ex Bl., and the results compared with those obtained by conventional hydrodistillation. The composition of the oil from both methods was found to be similar, and (-)-linalool was found as the main component (30-50%). The antioxidant activity of the essential oil obtained by both ...

comparison of microwave-assisted and hydrodistillation methods for extraction of essential oil from achillea millefolium

microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (mahd) method has been compared with hydrodistillation (hd) conventional technique for extraction of essential oil from achillea millefolium. microwave-assisted hydrodistillation were examined at three levels of microwave powers (300, 500, and 700 w) .   obtained results show that   mahd offers important advantages over hd in terms of energy savings and extr...

Antibacterial properties and chemical characterization of the essential oils from summer savory extracted by microwave-assisted hydrodistillation

Antibacterial properties and chemical characterization of the essential oils from summer savory (Satureja hortensis) extracted by microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (MAHD) were compared with those of the essential oils extracted using the traditional hydrodistillation (HD) method. While MAHD at 660 W required half as much time as HD needed, similar antibacterial efficacies were found from the...
